The training Paul recommended is offered by "Serving Those Who Serve".  See link at:  https://stwserve.com/home/seminars-events/      The class we took is "Understanding Your Federal Retirement Benefits" given by Ed Zurndorfer.  Ed is extremely knowledgeable and offers practical advice on steps one should be taking when preparing for retirement.  This class is designed for those 4 years, or less, from retirement. It is by far the most helpful class I have taken on retirement training.  It was free.  My supervisor approved it as training.  The company allowed my husband Paul (who does not work for the Fed Gov) to join me at the training. No strings, no sales pitches.  They focus on trainings in the DC area, but Ed mentioned he also travels around the country doing training.  If you are outside the DC area, I suggest finding out where Ed offers training near you.
