My 2 cents...
Money in the TSP, mostly in G, will earn approximately a 3% annual rate. What is your net annual rate (incl. the 1% fee) from the IRA? If it's above 3%, you stay in the IRA. If not, you come back to the TSP.

I don't often write but thought I would with a question about rolling my IRA back into the TSP. I am 62 and am retiring end of this Sep and planning on doing some part-time contract work for a few years. Roughly two years ago, I transferred most of my TSP into a managed IRA. Now I'm thinking of transferring it back into the TSP. Why? I believe I would have done better staying in the TSP; I'm fairly good at managing my funds (to be honest, I usually just follow Sarah's very much appreciated advice along with, sometimes, TSP Wealth). The firm I went with doesn't in reality do much but they collect 1%, and I mainly went with them because of the then more liberal withdrawal rules.
I'm soon going to move most of what I have left in the TSP into the G fund and also do something similar with the IRA - mostly get out of the market. Given that, does it seem to make any sense to move the IRA back into the TSP, given that I would be able to withdraw liberally from the TSP given the new withdrawal changes? Is there something I'm missing that would make this a not-so-wise move?Thank you in advance, John
