Look at your current and projected tax bracket. If it's lower later, then don't start conversions. If it's lower now, then look into possibly just filling up the current bracket. There's a lot of data for this. Just search Roth IRA conversion ladder.

Thought I'd throw this out there and maybe it's been covered. I expect to work full time for another 15-20 yrs. My current income isn't very high (I work for a non-profit). Since I cannot add to the TSP now, It seems smart to me to roll over the TSP into a Roth IRA so that I'm not taxed on it 15 years from now. Thoughts?
