I check the tsp daily. I'm retired. I have been making a spreadsheet with 20, 50, 200 day simple moving averages for F, C,S, I and having it assign a 1 if 20>50>200 day avg and a "null" if not, then assign a numerical value sum with a possible signal, OR I can enjoy my retirement, I won't need TSP until I'm 70, live off savings, FERS and SocSec, my house will be paid off in February 2018, let TSP grow at 12-13% instead of 17-18%, unused, and let someone else worry about investing since I was careful for 30 years and saved and lived frugal and been lucky.
Probably visit kid in Hawaii for a month (I'm retired)
The grim reaper you see in the rear view mirror is closer than you realize.
Hope this helps
Whatever you do, the G fund is NOT your friend IF you want your money to grow.
Ask yourself, do the fund managers in the L funds rebalance more than 2x per month?
Is their job to maximize returns?
Look at 5 year returns on G fund and _anything_ else in the TSP.

If you cannot daily manage, let someone else do it whose job it is.
I just wish I knew this in 1998, and L funds existed then. I'd be a millionaire.
Robert, you are considering the L2050. If all your retirement savings were in TSP, would you still be considering the L2050 fund?
