What is your idea of a "mainstream patent answer"?

It is a good question.I tend to reject a lot of the mainstream patent answers especially in today's investing environment. What worked in the past will not work in the future. The much maligned TSP G fund is a godsend for retired investors.I wrote a TSP Allocation Percentage Guide awhile back. I started by looking at what the TSP Lifecycle funds and the Vanguard Lifecycle Mutual Funds were doing based on years to retirement. It may help. I talk about the F fund too.In general as you approach retirement you should reduce your exposure to equities. But I also think even young investors need to be cognizant of elevated market risk and elevated market valuation levels.Since the current valuation of the market is in the vicinity of the 1929 and 2000 stock market bubble levels, it does not bode well for future returns.
