Re: [TSP_Strategy] Question on I Fund

Wow really need to proof read better.  In my last reply i said i would put more into the C fund. I meant to say was more into the I fund to be more aggressive. Or more into the 2040 or 2050 to be less aggressive.  I believe this year to be a very good year. If i was more pessimistic about the current economy definitely have a different tune. Stay away from the G fund the F fund is only slightly better. My opinion is if you are a hands off type TSP investor put it all in the C and collect your checks when you retire that simple . It will have its ups and downs but its a proven winner over any span of time equal to a career with the federal government.

Thanks for the reply.  I went to the link and it can be helpful. However my question has to do with moving from I fund to S fund.  Since it has been reported that S fund  will rise this coming year,  I wanted to know what would be the criteria for when to move to S.  In other words,  is now as good a time as any? Or do we need to hit a certain threshold?  I'm not up on market indicators like the rest of the folks so that's why I'm asking.  Also what are people's thoughts on a 50/50 allocation of funds between the C and S. Thanks.

My boss is in 100% I fund because he was not aware of this group. Would this be a good time to move to S or should he wait?

What do other members think of 50% S and 50% C.

Thanks
