Hi Folks, I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around how the traditional tax deferred approach is better than the Roth tax upfront approach. For instance, suppose I invest $5,000 in the TSP now. Assuming it grows 10x to around $50,000, isn't it better to pay tax on the original $5,000, than to pay tax on $50,000-- no matter what the tax rate?
Thanks for the input!
Diane
