I am so confident that the ROTH is the correct option!!! For me, that is. Given my age, income, and planned income in retirement it makes the most sense to pay the bill now. Certainly the "correct option" can change when those factors change. Possibly the biggest reason that Roth is right for me is based on what I * BELIEVE * , namely that I think taxes are lower now than when I'm going to be in retirement. Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Nat debt, Oh My. We're going to have to pay that bill and I think the Gov't is going to ask me to pay more than I am right now. Are taxes historically low right now?
Lastly, Efrain, your question might be better answered in a new or different post as this one (titled S Fund) pertains Roth vs. Traditional IRAs? (ok fine, the current allocation is %100 S Fund)
