And then I read this article.

Which got me worrying about Trumps knowledge of macroeconomics. If the potus doesn't understand the difference between a strong vs a weak dollar, if he has publically stated he wants to renegotiate the debt, and is pushing for protectionist policies, then I can only take him on face value. 

He is also the leader of a political party that has threatened to default on US debt obligations, when an opposing party potus was in office. Given the recklessness of the GOP congress on this matter coupled with the MO of Trump to seize the day's headline by rolling out executive orders that appear reckless and chaotic.
