So a GS-9, Step 6 employee who was earning $57,127 in 2016 gets basic pay of $64,136 in 2017. That's an increase of more than $7,000 per year, or $584 a month before taxes. A GS-14, Step 10 employee who earned $129,723 in 2016 will get $138,136 in 2017. This is an increase of $8,413 in gross pay, or $701 per month.
These numbers don't add up. 2.88% of $57,127 is $1,645 for a total of $58,772 not $64,136. Am I missing something?
Please forgive any misspellings or typos as this is being sent from really small keyboard.
