Why r u bearish on PM long term? They have been a very long term bear - 5 years as of last month.
I have been long platinum around two years and in that span lost 1/2 of value. It was the major loser in my outside TSP IRA which overall has far outperformed my TSP that has been invested all S fund, About 5 days ago I quintupled my holdings in PPLT (with cash from escaping equities a couple weeks ago). With recent large gains due to flight out of equities today I am overall even on PPLT and may go to cash soon if the bear in PM resumes.
But a lot has happened over 5 years, with production cutbacks and tightening supplies. Seems like the PM bear may be over to me.

SUNE is down 32% today alone. I would never buy a stock based upon the hope of a short squeeze.
I also believe that metals, long term, continue to be bearish.
