I saw that you signed up, very cool! I'm pretty new too, so I'm learning right along with you... Although I still have a long time until retirement. I just try to learn a little bit every day and read a little bit every day. Slow and steady wins the race! I do most of my retirement saving through the TSP but I have been using the Robinhood app with small amounts of money in well known, established companies just to learn. I don't try to get rich on it, but if I can make enough every few days to take the family out to dinner, I'm excited! Haha good luck!

Yeah they earn interest on uninvested funds in people's accounts, keeping it free. They are also in the process of releasing a new version that allows instant access to your funds after selling a stock or making a deposit instead of the 3-day waiting period they used to have.
