Re: [TSP_Strategy] Advice for new employee

 

This is what i am now doing.

1) daily get raw data from TSPCENTER

2) i have now put the data in another spreadsheet with a simple slope function (20 day) and 2 standard deviation Bollinger Bands around a 20 day simple moving average.

3) both the C and I funds "look" upwards but with gentle slopes

4) the S fund has roughly 1.5- 2.0 steeper slope, upwards, ___at present__

5) the Bollinger bands and SMA give me confidence that for the present the S fund will continue up

=AVERAGE(K7:K26)                      where col K is the raw S fund data and col X is the average

=+X7+STDEVPA(K7:K27)*$R$2    where $r$2 is my standard deviation factor, i start with a factor of 2, 95%  +2 SD

=+X7-STDEVPA(K7:K27)*$R$2    -2SD

here is the last ~20 days massaged data, 3 cols of +2SD, Avg -2SD

I'm approaching retirement in the next few years and have followed the advice here for some time with lots of satisfaction. Thanks! My question is what advice would might you give for someone just starting out at this point (my son) whether to go 100% S now until the group changes or somewhere else until the group changes then start following that lead.
