thanks for your response. I have (unfortunately) only recently discovered TSP Charts & Returns - Thrift Savings Plan with its charts, SMA's and such.
even using 50 and 200 day MA's i am unsure. looking at 216 trading days (back to 9/1/2015), yes F fund is up about a tad bit over $1.00. I fund seems on a long term downward trend. C and to a lesser extent S are vaguely upward, but you need to be aware of the Y axis total range. C has a few dollars (2-3) but S has a huge range around $7. unfortunately due to illness, i got caught in the S 'downdraft' of late Nov2105-Jan 2015 and was not monitoring. i had well over 10,000 shares exposed when it went from $37 to under $30 (a loss of 19%) and lost 3.5 years worth of TSP deposits and over age 50 catch-ups in 1.5 months. being retired now, it is tough to catch back up.

Sorry for a reply not related to the 5.3% raise petition topic.
Robert, unless you're a frequent TSP trader, you might want to look at F Fund closing prices against the 50- and 200-day moving averages (instead of 5- and 10-day) since the beginning of the year. To me, that shows a fairly steady but modest performance. Especially when comparing those curves for F to the C and S Funds' prices and MAs over the same period of time.
C/S and F can't all stay above their 50- and 200-day MAs for a long time. As others have noted, something probably has to give. Maybe soon.
