one of the things I have found after being in the markets around 40 years, since ~1983, is that
"time in the markets, beats timing the markets"
there are a lot more folks, smarter, faster, with more tools etc
also
"don't play in the penny stocks or you will lose 100%"
I maxed out my TSP the last 10 years or so before retiring, plus the extra "Catch-up", paid off all debts, credit cards etc
What is this thing about puting cash into mutual funds?

I think you meant staying in G. Since the recommendation it's been 18.5%, but still get your point.
I never left equities with the exception around mid-Sept when Congress was w/ budget and debt ceiling, then went right back in early October. Worked out nice but don't think I'd play that again or leave equities.

I think, staying in S was a big mistake that could have been corrected way sooner. S Fund share price on Jan 4th was $73.1568. As of Nov 1, the price if $88.9223. That's a 21% Increase. I saw the light and moved out of G in June. Thanks to the person who mentioned Scott and Deb in a post some time ago. I looked them up and have been following their Facebook as well.
