Maybe someone smarter can explain this to me.The Dow was up 100 points yesterday, Nasdaq was up, S&P 500 was up and the S Fund was down. Today, the Dow is up 55 points, Nasdaq and S&P are both up 0.12% and the S Fund is down again. Not much, but 0.06%, Is it just me or does this seem schizophrenic.
In music, you have "variations on a theme." The same generally applies to equity markets.
In bull markets, generally all markets move up. In bear markets, generally all markets move down. That said, some move more and others less.
So, for example, when the USD is weak, the I fund will move up more than the S and C funds, but they should all move up.
The Dow is composed of a few prominent large cap US stocks.
Nasdaq is mostly tech stocks.
S&P is large cap US stocks.
S fund is mid to small cap US stocks.
Don't expect identical moves each day. Do expect generally similar movements...in a bullish or bearish trend.
