Thanks for the comments everyone. It is certainly confusing for the average person when the media has conflicting stories like "Stocks Are A Buy", and another one says, "Sell Everything", like in this CNN report https://shar.es/16DaLU.
I'm only 5 years into the TSP, so I don't have a whole lot accumulated yet, and still have decades of savings to go, so I'm still working on a strategy that helps me sleep at night. I know the set and forget lifecycle funds are an option also.
If we are truly heading into a bearish market or recession, to me it makes sense to interfund transfer what I have into G or mostly G to minimize losses, but make future contributions into a mix of S,C, and I to take advantage of buying low.
