Re: [TSP_Strategy] Re: Bearish 2016? More Likely Now.

 

For those of us who don't invest in the same mix of TSP funds with our payroll deductions that we hold in our portfolio allocation, buying into S and C funds as they continue to fall in price still makes sense. 

"Buying low" and "dollar cost averaging" axioms seem to apply well. Especially if you think US markets are in better shape than other countries' and will eventually recover.

As far as TSP portfolio allocation, I've been pulling out of the US equity funds on peaks over the last few months. I'm now holding 60% in G, wishing I would have taken another 20% out the last week of December. I'm hoping for another run up soon to take more off the table.

Relative peaks in the C Fund were fairly easy to spot over the past 6 months (like SP500 anywhere near 2100 or even above 2050). So, I'm always interested in hearing if Sarah sets a lower threshold of when to step completely off the US equities roller coaster with my TSP holdings.
