Re: [TSP_Strategy] Not Exactly Getting Rich

The question is whether we, as a rich and free society, can stand by and watch our social safety net be destroyed by those who have more than they will ever need, and yet continue to take actions to further increase their wealth on the backs of the poor and middle class.

Taxes in this nation have been significantly cut since the 1980s, particularly to the wealthiest Americans, which has had the effect of benefiting them at the expense of the poor and middle class. As taxes have been cut, pensions have been eliminated, and federal/state/local aid to education, police, fire, sanitation, transportation, health care, the arts, have all been reduced or eliminated.  As such, the cost of all these areas have grown beyond the means of the poor and middle class.

I agree that a "redistribution of wealth" is unfair. We have had a redistribution of wealth in this country since the 1980s. It HAS been unfair, and it has hurt most families in the USA. IMHO, it will have to change if this nation is to survive. We need to move back to being a democracy, and away from being a plutocracy.
