Hello, My general advice is each person needs to devise a plan and strategy that fits with their risk tolerance level and goals/ objectives. This is most definitely not putting the funds in the G fund - I will put up a recent report I wrote up outlining the risks of doing that. I think most people with at least 10 years until retirement should be in the range of 60-80 % in equities, depending on their risk tolerance... As one gets closer throttliing back the equity component would be recommended. This is just a quick and dirty overview though - hope it helps a bit...
