Agree. Fiscal policy seems to be increasingly wedded to political agenda of both parties. It would be ideal if government could separate fiscal policy decisions from the ruling parties. Is the Fed truly apolitical? Not so sure.
IMHO, fiscal policy has always been wedded, to at least some extent, to the philosophy of the political party in charge of the executive branch.
That said, I disagree with the notion that economic issues affecting feds cannot be discussed rationally here. However, I do agree that some people cannot discuss such issues maturely, in which case, they should not be posting on a forum.
