Can someone please explain how the inter fund transfer works. 

Monday before noon I elected to transfer money from F to S. 

Money seems to have "disappeared" in the transaction to me. 

The "selling price" of F funds seems to be $17.5451 (Monday's end price) 

The "buying price" of S funds seems to be $35.8281 (Tuesday's end price)

When I calculate that if shares were sold/bought at the same price Monday night as posted on Monday then it seems I have had money disappear in the transaction as all of Tuesday's ups/downs are not reflected.  

Shares were sold at Monday's close, but not bought until Tuesday's close. 

This does not make sense to me. 

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

FWIW I just transferred 100% into the L 2050 fund. I don't have a clue what is going on with the market right now. It seems to be all smoke and mirrors, but if it is going to keep going up, I want to secure some of those gains. I selected a lifecycle fund just in case it does start to go down, it will not affect my account as much as if I was 100% equities. I will be monitoring very closely to minimize any losses if it starts to go down rapidly like it seems it should be. Good luck to all. I would love to hear some insight and opinions from others on this rally that we seem to be in
