Even if I look at the closing price on April 2nd, 17.4956, it's virtually the same result. A recent post also stated that F fund was up around3% in April. How do they come up with that number? I know the value of my TSP and it has not gone up 3% in April in spite of my contributions.
Huh?
How to determine % increase so far in a month.
1. Take the price on the last day of the previous month.
2. Compare it to the price on the last day of the current month.
3. Subtract to find the difference.
4. Divide the difference by the previous price
5. Multiply by 100 to obtain the percentage.
F fund on March 31 was worth 17.4856 /share.
F fund on April 27 was worth 17.5121 /share.
In other words, it increased by .0265 /share or 0.2%
