FWIW -- The S-Fund first reached the level that it's at today back in mid-March. So, over the last 4 months it's returned essentially 0% for anyone invested in that fund. However, a carefully chosen time window during that period can show a gain or a loss of nearly 4.8%. A paper "loss" or "gain" for any one month window during that period is well within that range.
