These were my thoughts when I retired last year. I moved all my TSP into an IRA rollover with my broker. Since Oct 14 the account is up about 25%. I trade leveraged ETFs. TNA is a triple leveraged ETF that mimics the Russell 2000. As others have warned its easy to get burned if you do not know what you are doing. But if you don't want to do the work yourself do what I did -- Sarah recommended S Fund so I placed a large chunk in TNA.
