I've been to a number of seminars with Medicare and OPM reps that addressed this issue in great detail. The bottom line is that there is no simple answer. As Steven noted, it is a personal decision with a large number of variables to consider. There is no shortage of information out there to read & consider. You'll find out that Medicare Part B does cover some items that most FEHB plans do not cover [e.g., durable medical equipment such as a wheelchair and home health care] and that a less costly FEHB may meet you needs if you have Part B.
