Yes I think you need to sign up as they charge a penalty if you don't and what I hear Medicare becomes the primary and FEHB will pay what they don't pay.

I know this isn't the format here, but I don't know where else I can ask my question: I'm retired and turn 65 in January. I'm unsure about taking Medicare. I would still keep my FEHB if I do sign up. Any comments about why you did or didn't? Thank you in advance.
