[TSP_Strategy] Re: YTD Returns thru 1/25/18

 

Hello Sarah,

Curious on your numbers.  How did TSP Strategy beat the I fund YTD by 0.8%?  You switched on 3 January (I assume the close of business) and the S fund had under-performed the I fund in the first couple of trading days by a hair...so I would expect TSP Strategy to be about a tenth of a percent behind the I fund YTD?

Also, do you register the closing price or opening price for your tracking purposes on the day you send out changes?

I'm curious as to your curiosity. 

I switched on Jan 3 prior to noon, which means you obtain the sell price of the S fund on Jan 3 and the buy price of the I fund on Jan 3. 

The S fund began the year at 48.4661. 
It was sold at 42.0988.
The I fund was bought at 30.9713

Do the calculation.
