Re: [TSP_Strategy] Re: "I" Fund Yesterday - Close of Business 1/17

Tsptalk posts the daily percentages for each fund every evening and also keeps a running tally of weekly and monthly percent returns.  That's what I use and it's accessible on the free part of their website.

i and my spouse made the personal decision to be 100% in the I fund
remember "prices fluctuate"
Since 12/1/2017
S UP 3.75%
I  UP  6.97%
C UP 6.10%
G UP 0.31% (flat)
and since 1/3/2018, I is up over 2x S fund, but neither are "Flat lines" but the trend is UP.
so until then, i shall remain (nervously) steadfast, but _not_ "fat, dumb and happy" like i used to be
does this answer your question?
I defer tho to Sarah's much greater wisdom

In the 1920's, Jesse Livermore, who made, and lost millions, when asked what stocks or stock prices would do, said "fluctuate".

I would suggest a more sanguine outlook.
You have a TSP and a (presently) guaranteed income in retirement unlike millions.
Death is relatively "right around the corner" for me and spouse.
My child called me from Kaua'i Sunday after they knew they would live and not perish "in a sudden wink of an incandescent glow" from the incoming missile.
Happy investing

EFA is close enough if you are long term.  I also track mine at tsp.gov and you can type in any date and see where its headed.   I am up

around a thousand a day for all of 2018 so just have to watch for what happened in 2008.

EFA down 0.12% today.  DWCPF down 0.42% today.  It's your money.

I'm still lost.  What's the point of tracking efa if it isn't the reality of our I fund?  This is frustrating.  S fund has been exploding since we left it,  and now I don't even know what the hell the I fund is doing since efa is not real.

The I fund DOES track EFA.

You can always go into the S fund.  Go ahead.
