Re: [TSP_Strategy] Re: Final 2016 Advisory Services Performance Update

Hello, Nathan. Unless I misunderstand your question, I think you're on that feed right now. Sarah Oz is most likely the person who approved your membership in the TSP Strategy group on Yahoo!

Sarah shares her periodic recommendations on making 100% moves among the TSP Funds. Some follow her recommendations strictly, even moving on the exact day it comes out. Others take multiple sources of information into account when making their own TSP investment decisions and timing. There are many TSP advisory sites out there. Some like Sarah's are free.

I read TSP Strategy messages via G-mail. But if you're on the Yahoo site, you can click on "Topics" under "Conversations" to see which ones she started or responded to. Hope that helps. Good luck in the TSP!

Jim

Hi Jim,

I am also brand new to this web site and am in need of information to better manage my TSP account.  In your email below, it appeared that you referred to an email from a lady named "Sarah" and that you had access to her input on this site, and that she gave her input from time to time (I am referring to your email below where you stated: Since Sarah recommended switching on 7 November 2017, the S Fund is up 16.11%. She wrote, "Bullish seasonal trend should kick in beginning today. S fund has a 40% potential upside from Friday's close. C fund has an 18% potential upside from Friday's close. I fund continues to be bearish. Moving to the S fund today. 100%."

I am interested in getting on that feed.  Is it possible to be included in that conversation with her?  Thanks for your help.

Hello, Robert. I too have been a long time advocate of the TSP Center tools, and the ease of checking 50- and 200-day moving averages for trends and seeing YTD returns.

When you wrote, "note S fund for 2017 to present date is 24.93% <--" I think you meant S Fund from beginning of 2016 to present date.

Since Sarah recommended switching on 7 November 2017, the S Fund is up 16.11%. She wrote, "Bullish seasonal trend should kick in beginning today. S fund has a 40% potential upside from Friday's close. C fund has an 18% potential upside from Friday's close. I fund continues to be bearish. Moving to the S fund today. 100%.

Since then the I Fund actually turned in the best performance up 16.76%, with S close behind at 16.11% and C up 14.73%. Bottom line, it's been a nice run up for all the TSP equity funds since the last election.

So far in 2017, the I Fund has been leading with 13.97% return followed by the C Fund with 8.82% and S Fund up 5.5%. See excerpts from TSP Center below.

Thank you.

I'm new to all this, but it appears the S&P 500 closed out 2016 @ 9.4% for the year. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a buy and hold strategy in the C Fund would have beaten all but two advisory services. Have I got that right?
