Blue Cross also covers the $233.00 Medicare deductible. Now were talking about a 1,000 difference in your calculation. Also with basic and part b, Blue Cross offers mail order prescriptions, which can be a great savings that will further reduce the difference. Mail order prescriptions are usually only available if you have Blue Cross Standard. If you get a serious illness needing to see specialist doctor's and tests on specialized equipment, the 1,000 difference is not that great. At least no matter what happens to you health wise, you know your cost for healthcare will only be you Blue Cross and part B premium. We are only getting older and will have more health care needs in the future.

Best for who? Part B is $170 x12 = $2040 minus $800 bac from BCBS = $1240. Lot of doctor visit co pays to make that worth while.
