Here for instance is a graph, with 2 standard deviation bands, of the S and C funds, for the last 10 weeks/50 trading days (July 4th is out so it goes to 6/13)

What does it look like is happening? 

to me, the 20 day moving average of both look positive, but perhaps a tiny bit weak, but upwards

Me, I ALSO graph a moving average to smooth

Is the daily close greater than the 5 day average, add 1

Is the 5 day average greater than the 20 day average, add 1

is the 20 day average greater than the 50 day average, add 1

(these are popular so a lot of folks follow so somewhat self fulling prophecy but soso)

I then add 0 ,1 ,2 3

then do a 15 day moving average of that summation and graph

here is a 1 year graph of that

NOTE: remember late Sept 2018 when things crashed until end of year, etc

to me this looks like I need to keep a close eye on whats going on.

BUT

YOU CAN DO THIS ALSO

the data is free, you should have excel, etc.

You have to use a bunch of indicators to "see what the market" ie everybody is thinking and doing

graph it every day (say lunchtime?) to get a "feel" for "whats going on"

but play with numbers, perhaps there are better filters
