Thank you for sharing your strategy. It generated some questions for me:
As a recent retiree (8/2017), I wanted to roll-over only my Roth contributions, but could not do that according to TSP withdrawal rules--the proportional aspect you mention in your post.
You mention expecting to take $$ out of only specific TSP funds and not others--can you share what forms or publications or guidance you consulted that tells the rest of us how to do that "cherry-picking" withdrawal or roll-over? Everything I've experienced with the current rules tells me that I absolutely cannot do just what you've said you're going to do, so I am extremely interested in what you've discovered!
I am awaiting the implementation of new rules that I hope/expect will give me more options, but if you have insight for me now I welcome it!
