If you retire on June 30th, you will receive your 1st retirement check on August 1st. If you retire on July 7th, your first retirement check will be received on September 1st.

Sorry that this is a little off topic but since most of you are Feds and some of you are retired I'll ask anywhay. I am in FERS and will retire very soon. just wondering what date is better. June 30 or July 7 and why. June 30 is the end of the month and July 7 is the end of the pay period. Also, July is a paid holiday.
