[TSP_Strategy] Are you crying yet? 😂

 

This was the question that a coworker asked me after the markets closed this past Friday.  I told her, Have you heard of the herd mentality? Following the pack is not usually the wisest course, whether in a bull or bear market. Instead, take a pause, review your financial plan, and stick to the plan.  I told her I am in for the long run but i am keeping an eye out on a down trend that will trigger me to take profits and wait for the next up trend. While that is a great plan and will probably miss it, I still have twenty years before I retire.

I showed her the (SPX) chart and told her just to imagine that we went back in time to January 11, 2018 where the price was 2,767 (SPX) like it is today.  We should still be happy today as we were on Jan 11th.  Like Sarah points out, the 50 and 200 day average hasn't been breached.
