Re: [TSP_Strategy] Finding current Group Allocation

FWIW - I prefer to watch the daily close of the 3 TSP Funds against their 50 day and 200 day simple moving averages. I choose a window of 9 months to a year at the TSP Center site to get a better perspective. That helps slow the trigger on making modest adjustments to my portfolio.

Not sure it that method is as useful for those who make 100% moves though. Sometimes they cross in both directions several times a few days apart before establishing a trend.

go to this site, do a 20 day and 100 day moving avg on F,C,S,I funds  (S and C is up today, F and I down today)
But the 20 day and 100 day MA in the S fund seem to be slitely converging, but just slitely.

Database still shows 100% S for the group.  Unless
I missed something.

For

 TSP
Strategy Group homepage, click "More" on (group) menu at
top and select "Database". Current group allocations are
in the TSP Allocations DB by sarah_oz (the only database!)
and then in the database the Name field for TSP Strategy and
allocation(s) (currently 100% C) is/are listed there.

That site allows you
to track the funds using moving averages, and has
downloadable data.I
use it to help remove emotions by noting what the long term,
50 and 100 day and short term 20 day (2.5, 5 and 1 month)
are doing, their general trend, C&S up, I ? F? and are
any moving averages heading for a crossover.Just look at the MA'sThey remove daily 'noise" and keep me from
being a "stress puppy" freak outThis is long haul, for wife 30+ years, me ,24+ years.

have been lurking on this site for years and find it very
helpful. Sarah does a great job. I am a bit amazed by how
many people do not know how to check the group's current
allocation, or won't bother to check it. Sending a
message asking if we have moved takes as much effort as just
checking the allocation in the database. Maybe there is a
way to add a heading or a signature line to every message
showing the current allocation. If this could be done, it
might reduce the frequency of posts regarding the
group's current
allocation?
