Be careful about effective date. For me the change needs to be effective for the Pay Period which results in the first pay deposit of the new calendar/tax year. So for 2018 I want my changes to be effective in PP 25 (which runs Dec 10 through Dec 23) and for which I will receive payment the week of Mon Jan 1, 2018.
