Re: [TSP_Strategy] 2018 TSP Allotment Change Effective Date

Re: [TSP_Strategy] 2018 TSP Allotment Change Effective Date

Since the last pay period of the year begins on 23 Dec and we are effectively 1 pay period behind, i think as long as i make the change prior to the 23 Dec PP, I should be ok to make the change then to capture the 1st PP of the year.

That payment occurs during PP 26 and is for work performed during PP25; so PP25 is called the 'effective' pay period.

Therefore to make sure my changed allocation begins on the first pay of 2018 I must make the change before PP25 (i.e. PP24 or earlier) to ensure the changes are  effective in PP25.

If you're on a different pay schedule your results could be different.

As another example, for 2019 the first pay of the tax/calendar year 2019 for me will be on Jan 14 which is pp01 and my 'effective' period will be pp 26.

Just wondering for DoD Civilian Army TSP change in allotments through EBIS how/where to make the effective date so that it starts in first pay period of 2018 to max out of $712.  I don't see an option to change allotment on a certain date.  If i change it, it seems to only let me change for the next pay period?  Thoughts?  Help?

Ok, so the soon to be released BRS plan for military is a pretty good deal vs the legacy high-3 plan. Add in the compounding effect and that's gonna beat the drop of 10% in the base pay. Cool.

Thanks in advance.
