As long as you are over 50 sometime during 2022 you will be good.
If you are under 50 they will deduct the $1038 from each pay period until you hit the max, $20,500, or roughly 20 pay periods in 2022. Then the next 6 pay-periods you would not contribute to the TSP nor get matching contributions for those 6 pay periods.
