The Fedsmith article assumes major non-facts about Federal employment, and is a hatchet job. And besides that, I don't understand why any Fed accepts the talking points of a partisan organization (Heritage), funded by billionaires and corporations.
Their menu for you and your families is salary decreases, benefit cuts, and weakening of the 130 year old civil service system. From those projected budget "savings," they gorge on tax cuts. Then they decry government services and competence: "See! We told you so, gov't doesn't work. Those civil servants are coddled!" Call in more cuts, take an axe again to the civil service. Rinse, repeat
People wake up!
The Heritage report says: "First, retirement benefits would not change for federal employees with 25 years or more of federal service."
I take that as saying that the FERS supplement would still remain for these employees. However, no one knows for sure until the new administration takes office.
