Re: [LeadersWorkshop] Life Is A Balance........Worth

Hello Mr. Hamid,

Yaah, it's up to us to balance our own life
but I would like to add one thing that as we all know our 12 hours passes in our office or call on work place out of 24 hours os a day. and rest time passes in our routine work like sleep, eat, etc. So, our social intersection would be only about 6-7 hours maximum!
So, people passes more time of their life with their superior, peers, subordinates. So he or she would be able to get enough inspiration, motivation, co operation, good working environment and job satisfaction to perform work better and then ultimately one can be able to balance his life well.
If yet I may have some favor towards employees then please make me clear.

Hi Suchi Patel,

Yes you are right, but in real business scenario's these policies are designed/implemented by the business conditions.
There are companies who actually wish to provide best working conditions for their employees but not all.

In my reply my intention was that it is you and only you who could implement balance in your life no one else could, haven't you seen people working beyond working hours ? those might say that managers force them to do so but isn't that they only in some point in past started working late for their own reasons and now as manager know that he/she works beyond hours let me stop him/her late.

Mr Nayaran Murty, said I have seen people correcting mistakes for the whole week which they committed while working after 5pm on Monday.

If one decides that he/she has to finish work by 5.30pm and leave for the day, I tell you it is not that difficult to manage yeah some exceptional cases would be there and they are best to figure out how to implement this, I am sure talking to HR/Manager would yield some results.

As if one doesn't maintain the balance it is them in the end who has to pay the price.

So my take , do it for your own good as if your self being is happy your productivity will only rise.

Hi,

And why do you think HR/Manager will take care of your personal life for you ?
This is a misconception, they are professionals and your are being paid to work for company hence they are interested in getting results whether it comes at the toll of your personal life or not, its not their problem.

Ms Carol (CEO of Yahoo) said it is you and your mother who are the ones who cares for your carrier/life and no one else

Well said.
But does the HR & Managers understand this thing at work place.
What is that which makes them so incompetent to implement a work life balance for their subordinates?
I think its the individual nature & instinct which drives this.

Best Regards,
Gurmeet.

AN INSPIRATIONAL  STORY

A Long time ago, there was an Emperor  who told his horseman that if he could ride on his horse and cover as much land area as he likes, then the Emperor would give him the area of land he has covered.

Sure enough, the horseman quickly jumped onto his horse and rode as fast as possible to cover as much land area as he could.

He kept on riding and riding, whipping the horse to go as fast as possible. When he was hungry, thirsty or tired, he did not stop because he wanted to cover as much area as possible.

Came to a point when he had covered a substantial area and he was exhausted and was dying.

Then he asked himself, "Why did I pushed myself so hard to cover so much land area?

Now I am dying and I only need a very small area to bury myself."

The above story is similar with the journey of our Life. We push very hard everyday to make more money, to gain power and recognition.

We neglect our health, time with our family and to appreciate the surrounding beauty and the hobbies we love to do.

One day when we look back, we will realize that we don't really need that much, but then we cannot turn back time for what we have missed.

Life is not about making money, acquiring power or recognition. Life is definitely not about work!

Work is only necessary to keep us living so as to enjoy the beauty and pleasures of life.

Lessons to Learn from The Story:

Life is a balance of Work and Play, Family and Personal time. You have to decide how you want to balance your Life. Define your priorities, realize what you are able to compromise but always let some of your decisions be based on your instincts.

Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of Life, the whole aim of human existence.
So, take it easy, do what you want to do and appreciate nature. Life is fragile, Life is short. Do not take Life for granted. Live a balance lifestyle and enjoy Life!

Past is Experience...!
Present is Experiments....!
Future is Expectations...!
Use your Experience in your Experiments to achieve your Expectations...!!!

START THE WEEK AFRESH MOOD AND MIND.

ALL THE BEST
