Induction and orientation of new employees in the organization is one of the most neglected function in Corp Inc. While it is normally taken up seriously by HR person but ultimately landup with zero out come when it passes to line managers. The common myth about employee orientation is only about providing him a bulky employee handbook and bunch of paper work. The objective of this function is to communicate effectively the company values, vision and mission to the new employee along with company policy, rules and regulations and all that to make his stay comfortable. HR must understand that it is not simply a nice gesture to give him a bunch of flowers on the first day but something more than that meaningful is required to be done by all concerned in the organisation.
