Another side effect to this shutdown just occurred to me, and unless I am mistaken, while the government will eventually credit scheduled TSP contributions once we get paid, the purchases will (if trends hold) occur in a stock market already up sharply since the shutdown began, and not at the much lower level when purchases "should" have occurred.  If I am correct, this will be another lingering financial impact for feds, and will hurt all of us who have stayed in equities and who would otherwise benefitted from dollar cost averaging.

What HAS occurred, to date, is not speculation.
