Very hard to imagine they will raise rates in an election year. More likely, now that they bumped them up, they have room to drop them 0.25 next September to get a stimulation and perhaps pick up some votes.

While I agree with much of your analysis, I believe that the Fed will be loathe to raise interest rates any further should the markets continue to tank. I anticipate that near term future fed statements will be designed to assist in propping up equities. The result should be a slow bull market until the economy picks up steam.
