Not sure how you consider that "overflow". We might be talking about different things. The seasonal trading group that I know of isn't affiliated with Scott and Deb's groups.

Unless I missed something, the secondary group isn't really an "overflow" as someone mentioned before. The main group is targeted more for the buy/hold investor and the 2nd group is for swing trading. For a while, Deb was limiting new subscribers but based on how fast the group is growing in number, I don't think she's denying many requests these days for the main group. Here is the 2nd group (swing traders group).

To join the main group, you might have to mention someone you know in the group. Feel free to use my name if you want to.

Make sure you read the rules and stickied post before asking any questions, if/when your join request is approved.

Re: [TSPStrategy] TSP Allocations

Re: [TSPStrategy] TSP Allocations

To be blunt, I have been in the markets since 1983 and have lost far more than I have ever gained "trading"

If you trade you are trying to beat professionals with very sophisticated computer algorithms, many that co-locate as close as possible literally using the lag in the speed of light in fiber optics to skim microseconds and fractions of a cent, millions, if not billions of times a day

If you think you can beat them with a 2-3 trades per month, good luck. (The 3rd monthly trade has to be into G fund (cash))

You might get lucky

If I had just, accumulated using a buy and hold mostly I would have at least 10x what I do, yet am still comfortable.

You will likely not be able to join that particular group because it has reached its full capacity; there is a Secondary group for overflow members, which should mirror the info in the initial Primary group listed below

The beauty of the group is that you can make moves when you want.  I moved to c and s a month ago. Got lucky and timed a low period.

What did Deb recommend?

Hoping this run continues!

Good luck all!

Moving G was beneficial for as long as it lasted but that was not long.

Yes, agree.  Moving to G was yuuuge mistake.  I'm within 3 years of retirement so decided to stay mostly in G but have reallocated to include C and S. It's more of a long term position and not based on any market data.  I mostly copied the 2025 L Fund

Re: [TSPStrategy] TSP Allocations

If I'm thinking of the same Deb, she's co-admin of the so-named Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) facespace group (not the official TSP group) located at https://www.facebook.com/groups/1399724786966464 . As far as I've been on there (2015ish), she has never left equities but changes her C/S mix occasionally. The owner of the group has done some swing trading but it doesn't always turn out well. With 60k+ people in the group, there is lots of info.

Who is Deb? If you mean Sarah, I think she retired in this group already, since last year she haven't recomended any move to equities after the move to G. Except for some tips on  retirements.

Guess I am a semi lucky one, was on vacation and missed the move months ago and stayed in C so have the 40.29% over the last year, now to keep from losing alot of it.
