If the 1-2% COLA that we might have gotten but didn't is going to effect your entire retirement planning scheme to the point where you are going to rant about it, then maybe you ought to hire yourself an intelligent, conservative money manager to help you out with your retirement planning.
Apparently, the liberal money managers that you have been talking to aren't doing a very good job.

It is interesting that what previously was viewed to be "conservative money management" vs "liberal money management" has now been turned on its head.
