[TSP_Strategy] Re: Are You Losing Funds by Funding TSP Too Much?

Agree, it's not a button, but my agency does list the exact amount with instructions for contributions. Your payperiods and instructions may vary.

The 2018 tax year for the Thrift Saving Plan (TSP) and TSP catch-up contributions will begin Pay Period 25 (December 10, 2017 through December 23, 2017) and will end with Pay Period 25 (December 9, 2018 through December 22, 2018).  For 2018 tax purposes, there are 27 Pay Periods spanning Pay Periods 25- 26, 2017 and Pay Periods 1 – 25, 2018.  The 2018 Annual IRS TSP Deferral Limit has increased from $18000 to $18,500.  The 2017/2018 TSP Catch-Up limit remains unchanged at $6,000.
TSP Deferral Limit:  The 2018 IRS annual elective deferral limit for TSP is $18,500.  If you wish to contribute the maximum deferral amount evenly each pay cycle, the contribution amount is: $686 beginning with pay period 25, 2017 (12/10/2017).  Contributions are permitted to be made in whole dollar amounts only. The final 2018 contribution will be adjusted to the amount of $664 to prevent exceeding the elective deferral limit for the 2018 tax year.  Enrollment in TSP automatically continues each year.
TSP Catch-Up Limit:  The 2018 IRS annual deferral limit for TSP catch-up is $6,000, unchanged from 2017.  If you are age 50 or older (or if you will become 50 during the calendar year that you are making the election), and you are already contributing an amount which will result in reaching the elective deferral limit of $18,500 by the end of the tax year, you are eligible to make catch-up contributions. If you wish to contribute the maximum deferral amount evenly each pay cycle, the contribution amount is $223 beginning with pay period 25, 2017 (12/10/2017).  Contributions are permitted to be made in whole dollar amounts only.  The final 2018 contribution will be adjusted to the amount of $202 to prevent exceeding the elective deferral limit for the 2018 tax year. Enrollment in TSP catch-up ceases each year and does not automatically continue
Enrollment/Changes:
To enroll or make changes to your TSP, you will need to access the self-service feature in MYEPP at: Employee Personal Page (EPP).  The website offers a password/user ID recovery function.  Changes will reflect as "Pending" if you select a future date effective date.
