Average life expectancy is longer than that, its 76.4 for a male born now: 82.9 for a male that is 65 today. Those numbers are why I (FERS w 20 CSRS years) took SS at 62, instead of letting it build up. The break even point was at 83, and I would rather have the money when I was younger and could enjoy it.
