October 28 is the Best Day of the Year
October 28th is the best day of the year if you go back to 1950. Why is this? My best guess is it is because it is also my birthday.
As you can see here, it is up +0.54% on average. November 24th (around Thanksgiving) and the day after Christmas are also usually strong.
Here are all the daily returns on average since 1950. Again, tomorrow is the best day on average.
Looking at the past 30 years, this day has been lower just three times.
