Normally, the Fed doesn't even think of cutting rates until there is a significant downturn underway.
In this instance, the Fed acted in anticipation of that downturn which helped to put a floor under stock prices.
However, with the latest tariffs, that floor has been broken.
So, the next question is, will the Fed, which previously said that there will be no future cuts in the near term, change their tune?
Given how accommodating this Fed has been, I believe that the answer will be yes.
